Sometimes a child’s behavioral health issues are overwhelming and require a secure environment outside of the home to deal with their mental health problem or substance use disorder. West Hills Behavioral Health Hospital provides patients with the most intense level of care available. Our child and adolescent inpatient mental health program includes 24-hour skilled nursing observation, daily oversight by a psychiatrist and coordinated treatment by a physician-led team of mental health professionals.
Our acute inpatient mental health services for adults provide 24-hour nursing care and stabilization for adults experiencing severe symptoms of psychiatric issues, like depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, and more. Acute inpatient psychiatric care at West Hills Behavioral Health Hospital is always short-term and designed to quickly stabilize the most serious symptoms to allow a quick transition to less intensive levels of care.
Our acute inpatient substance abuse treatment services consist of physician-supervised medical detoxification, medication management, a comprehensive skill-building and educational curriculum, process groups and recreational therapy—all of which allow our patients to benefit from the most effective and integrative approaches to addiction treatment. West Hills Behavioral Health Hospital has two Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOPs) to serve our adult patients with behavioral health issues or substance abuse problems. Our outpatient IOP services are designed to provide a smooth transition from inpatient to home or to help prevent the need for inpatient admission. Intensive outpatient treatment provides more care and oversight than standard weekly individual therapy sessions, allowing space for practicing their coping skills while still being able to live at home.
